January 2014

With the decorations safely packed away , its now time to reflect on recent events.

The band had an extremely successful and busy Christmas period. The concert was a great evening with the switch to a Friday  proving very popular with the audience. The Brass Class performed to a high standard with many parents and grandparents enjoying the performances.

The Award for outstanding Contribution this year went to the bands Musical Director Andrew Harris for his continual enthusiasm and pushing the band gently to new heights musically. Well done Andrew and many thanks from all the band!.

One of the highlights of our Christmas season was playing at Darren and Jo’s Wedding on !3th December at the Church in Coombe Raleigh. it was a joy to support Darren, on his and Jo`s special day and we all wish them much happiness for the future.

The band is currently looking for a percussionist. We require an enthusiastic percussionist who is able to rehearse on a Thursday evening from 7.30-9.30. If you are out there and fancy giving it a try please contact Brian baker on 01404 814502.

The band and Brass Class are now starting to rehearse music for the spring and summer engagements. They rehearse weekly at the bandroom under the library Monday evenings 7.30-8.30.

Thanks to all our loyal supporters and we are looking forward to seeing you in 2014 .
